Did you know that we’ve been around since 1892? Well, technically the Patten family’s business ventures have existed since the 19^th Century, but the dream that became Patten Seed Company began in the aisles of a general store in Lakeland, Georgia.

Now our farms and stores are spread across Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. You’ll see harvesters zipping across the fields in machinery we never could’ve imagined when we began harvesting sod in 1965. Yellow-tarped trucks roll along the highway as more people seek an instant lawn for their homes, and technology connects us with customers around the globe who want Zenith Zoysia and TifBlair Centipede lawns from seed.

Though our company has grown, we still feel like a big family. However, we know that with growth, onlookers can begin to see a business as a corporation rather than seeing the people and values behind it. That’s why we created a pledge to our customers.
